From 27 October 2026, EgyptAir will launch four weekly direct flights between Cairo and Birmingham Airport, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Birmingham becomes EgyptAir’s third UK destination after London and Manchester — and the first direct link between Birmingham Airport and Cairo International Airport.
The new service expands Birmingham Airport’s Egyptian offering which already includes routes to Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh. The Cairo connection is significant because it gives Birmingham passengers access to EgyptAir’s full global network — including connections across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia — through a single hub.
Matt Hazelwood, Chief Commercial Officer at Birmingham Airport, described the route as strengthening their Egyptian network and providing greater choice for customers flying direct from Birmingham.
EgyptAir Chairman and CEO Captain Mohamed Elian framed the launch as a demonstration of the airline’s commitment to the UK market, saying Birmingham’s addition “reflects our commitment to a market that holds tremendous significance for EgyptAir.”
